TrilogyCommunications welcomes Leader of the House of Commons

Trilogy Communications, the audio communications company based in Hampshire welcomed local MP and Leader of the House of Commons, Sir George Young to their premises to look at how the Government can support fast growing SMEs in a global marketplace

Trilogy Communications, the audio communications company based in North West Hampshire welcomed local MP, Leader of the House of Commons and Lord Privy Seal, Sir George Young to their premises to look at how the new Government can support fast growing SMEs in a global marketplace.

Following its success in being awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade and the UKTI sponsored Exporter of the Year, Trilogy is in a prime position to help the UK's economic recovery through strong export growth.

Sir George who has just been returned to his seat with an increased majority was invited to meet with Trilogy as part of the Defence Industries Council's 'Defence Matters' campaign which is focussed on giving ministers a better appreciation of how important this dynamic, high technology sector is to the UK economy as a whole.

Commenting on the visit, Mike Knight, Trilogy CEO said: "The business sector we operate in invests £3.3 billion into Research and Development and provides over 300,000 high-value engineering and manufacturing jobs in the UK and as such we value the opportunity to promote the requirements of our sector and the needs of our business to the new Government".

Trilogy itself is already involved in several key defence contracts at home and abroad and exports 80% of its turnover each year to demanding customers such as the US Air Force. Within the first few months of 2010, Trilogy's Mercury ES, a class leading COTS product has been selected as a core component of another major national C4ISR system in South East Asia.

Speaking after the visit, Sir George said: "It was a real pleasure to go round Trilogy, and to hear of the foreign exchange they are earning by exporting the bulk of their output. It was also good to hear that here, in Andover, is a company that is supplying world beating technology and winning valuable contracts".
