Trees Instead Sponsors Runterra Race Series by Donating 1200 Trees

Trees Instead will plant 1200 trees to offset the carbon footprints of every runner, expo attendee and vendor at runterra's first race in Gaithersburg, MD on March 29, 2009. runterra Gaithersburg 8K race is a spotlight event for the Go Green America Expo whose goal is to bring clean energy solutions to everyday people. The environmental impact of any human being and their activities during a certain period of time are measured in units of carbon dioxide and called their "carbon footprint." Trees Instead estimates the collective carbon footprint of an event based on the number of attendees, venue space, transportation used, and mileage to/from the event.
