TouchEdit Unveiled To The Public For The First Time At January’s Los Angeles Post Production Meeting

TouchEdit, the brand new editing app for the iPad from Editor Dan Lebental, ACE (Elf, Iron Man) will have its first public demonstration at the January 9th Los Angeles Post Production Group meeting in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles, CA (I-Newswire) January 5, 2013 - TouchEdit, the much anticipated and buzzed about non-linear editing system (NLE) app for the iPad will have its first public demonstration at the Los Angeles Post Production Group’s January 9th meeting at the Showbiz Store & Cafe in Los Angeles. The founder and designer of TouchEdit, Editor Dan Lebental, ACE, will be discussing workflow, the creative process and the future of editing with TouchEdit being a key example.

TouchEdit is a frame-based editing system for the iPad where users have two virtual monitors - a source and a record monitor - controlled by two corresponding filmstrips. Users control the filmstrips by running their fingers back and forth across them, using the same finger-touch technology iPad users are already comfortable with. TouchEdit’s timeline based editor also enables users to interact directly with the video as well as a full eight channels of audio.

With over 20 years as a Hollywood professional editor, Lebental has been a long time collaborator with Jon Favreau and has edited such hits such as Elf and the blockbusters Iron Man and Iron Man 2. His versatility across genres includes working on comedies, dramas, thrillers, documentaries, TV projects as represented by more than 20 movies and hundreds of music videos cut over the span of his career.

Los Angeles Post Production Group Founder, Woody Woodhall, discusses the upcoming meeting, “having Dan speak about the creative process is a great way to start the New Year. We are all eagerly awaiting the meeting to explore what TouchEdit can do, as I know this type of technology is of major interest to LAPPG members. We are honored to be the first to showcase his new editing app.”

In addition, to Dan’s presentation, Master Trainer Steve Wright will be presenting a glimpse of his workshop on “Color of Digital Artists.” Wright, a senior visual effects artist with over 20 years of production experience, has created digital effects for 70 television commercials and 70 feature films including Ray, Ali, Traffic, Air Force One, Batman & Robin, and many more. He has collected the hard to find knowledge of what happens when color hits the computer to share with attendees.

This next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 9th, 2013 at 7pm at the Showbiz Store & Café at 500 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90049. To attend this event, please register at:
