Tommy Tippetts Completes Solo Atlantic Row In 82 Days

Orbana Healthy Energy athlete Tommy Tippetts has successfully rowed the Atlantic Ocean unaided. Incorporating Orbana into a daily nutritional regime he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 82 days 8 hours and 40 minutes.

London (I-Newswire) May 22, 2012 - Orbana Healthy Energy athlete Tommy Tippetts has successfully rowed the Atlantic Ocean unaided. Incorporating Orbana into a daily nutritional regime he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 82 days 8 hours and 40 minutes.

After setting off from the Canary Islands on the 21st January, Tommy had to combat some rough spells of weather, flying fish attacks and a broken water purifier before arriving in Barbados almost three months later.

Talking about how he kept motivated throughout the row, Tommy said:

“I actually never once sat on the boat thinking “this or that would be nice to have right now” or missed any home comforts as it were. When you are in the position of being out in the middle of the ocean on your own, you don’t have much choice as to what you can and can’t have and so you just have to get on with it. Tommy Tippetts was taking part in the grueling Woodvale Race and raising money in aid of Mind, a leading mental health charity. He’s raised almost £15,000 so far.
