Thirumoolar's Ashtanga Yoga - DVD For Home Practice, Now Available in English

HONG KONG — Now available in an English, Thirumoolar's Ashtanga Yoga is produced to benefit the home practice of yoga practitioners around the world.

The DVD features the basic sequence of Thirumoolar's Ashtanga Yoga. It covers over 35 asanas along with their steps, alignment and modifications for beginners, and over 10 Pranayamas and Shanthiasana (deep relaxation). Sage Thirumoolar is the author of the Thirumandiram, a seminal text of Saiva Siddhanta and one of the foremost authorities on the therapeutic benefits of yogic discipline. The Thirumandiram describes the practice of Ashtanga Yoga and its rewards, including the attainment of balance in all three elements (Tridhosa) of the body, as well as the prevention and cure of various mental and physical ailments. It also elaborates on the eight siddhis or paths of enlightenment.

Guruji Dr. Asana Andiappan, a yogi of over seven decades and recipient of the first Mahatma Gandhi Award and Patanjali Award in the field of yoga in India, has developed sequences of asanas based on these texts of Sage Thirumoolar, making accessible the therapeutic benefits of yoga to thousands of practitioners.
