The Subaru WRX Will Move Away From Impreza Platform And Be Sold at Staunton Subaru

The WRX separates from the Impreza name, receives a minor makeover, and will be sold at Staunton Subaru in early 2013.

Staunton Subaru is proud to offer the new Subaru WRX starting at the beginning of next year. The WRX will make a name for itself coming in 2013. The new WRX will diverge from the Impreza name and become its' own model.

After the redesign of the Impreza, Subaru decided it would be best to make the WRX all-new as well. Subaru wants to distinguish the Impreza as its solid, mainstream car, and the WRX as a performance racer.

The WRX has been known to have strong performance with an affordable price. The new WRX is set to be even better in both of those categories as well as upgrading its fuel economy up to 15%. These statistics are turning heads towards Subaru, and making the WRX the most awaited Subaru since the BRZ.

Popular Mechanics names the 2013 Subaru WRX a car worth waiting for. It predicts that the WRX will get the FA motor which was developed for the Subaru BRZ and put up 265 horsepower. The WRX STI should make about 305 hp according to Edmunds.com and is expected to be released by late 2013.

The WRX is expected to return as a 3-door hatchback and possibly in a sedan form. It will have a turbocharged 2.0L boxer 4-cylinder engine and will make more power than earlier models. It will lose a little weight but Edmunds.com says don't expect an exterior makeover. But as always on Subarus, do expect standard all-wheel drive.

Even know the Impreza and the WRX are going separate ways they will still bounce ideas off each other for future models. Look for these future models and more at Staunton Subaru near Charlottesville.
