The Pet Pantry Matching Donations for Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center Food Drive

All-natural holistic dog food to be distributed to pet owners April 10th

(Apex, N.C.) The Triangle's leader in convenient home delivery of pet food nutrition, The Pet Pantry, is in the final days of a month-long food drive in concert with the Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center in Raleigh. The company has been matching customer donations of its 100% natural holistic dog food ordered online from FeedYourPets.com between March 1st and April 2nd.

So far, over 1,600 pounds of The Pet Pantry's Premium Adult Maintenance pet food has been collected, with the company doubling the amount of food donated by customers. The donations will help dog owners having difficulty feeding their companion animals due to tough financial circumstances.

"The food drive is designed to help ease the burdens of pet owners in this challenging economy, which fits well with our company's goal to make life easier for pet lovers," Thor Wendland, president of The Pet Pantry, said. According to Wendland, proper animal nutrition is something often overlooked by dog and cat owners due to the proliferation of cheap national brands with questionable ingredients.

"Especially when times are tough, people get suckered in by promises of 'quality' food at discount prices and their pets unfortunately suffer from an unhealthy diet," he said.

Wendland said a dog or cat's digestive system plays an important role in its overall immune system, making their diet an essential component in its health and well-being, especially with food-related issues like obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

The Premium Adult Maintenance dog food The Pet Pantry is donating to the Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center food drive is supplied by trusted, reliable family owned and operated food producers dedicated to using human-grade, vitamin-rich ingredients. The donated food will be distributed to dog owners attending a rabies/microchip clinic at the DMV Headquarters on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh April 10th.

In-person food donations can be made at several retail locations throughout the Triangle. For more information visit www.wakegov.com/pets/events/food_drive.htm.

Online donations are still being accepted through April 2nd on The Pet Pantry website, FeedYourPets.com.
