The Nickelodeon Suites (The Nick) is a unique, high energy family destination that holds its own in the theme-park saturated Orlando, Florida. The kid friendly hotel is the only resort of its kind in the world, and touts the consumption of several hundred thousand gallons of green slime each year. When their 11 year old legacy Hitachi phone system needed to be replaced, The Nick turned to Design Communications, Inc (DCI), one of the largest Mitel, NEC, and Hitachi distributors in the country.
"Our old phone system was an end of life system, and no one supported it," described Rodney Boudreaux, IT Director of the Nickelodeon Resort. "It was becoming a liability."
DCI suggested a durable Mitel 3300 phone system that would be able to withstand the rigors of a child-friendly environment, as well as Mitel's ACD software to improve their call distribution to agents in their reservation department. They also suggested ProfitWatch Call Accounting, a call billing software for hotels that integrates seamlessly with most PMS systems and has easily customizable charge back rate tables and simple setup to accurately categorize all extensions. Additionally, using the ProfitWatch hot spot map indicator and DNIS call reports, hoteliers can track marketing campaigns to target geographic regions and potentially increase bookings.
