The Music Freedom Project Seeks Artists' and Webcasters' Cooperation

Traditional royalty payments are out of the range of affordability for small internet radio station broadcasters; however, this new project has a free solution to benefit both artists and broadcasters alike.

(I-Newswire) January 11, 2005 - Since the birth of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, the subject of royalty payments has been a topic of much discussion for internet radio broadcasters, and it has caused many stations to close their doors to listeners to avoid devastating lawsuits for station owners that are in most cases already spending more to broadcast than they are able to raise in revenue before royalty payments are even factored into the equation.

The Music Freedom Project ( www.musicfreedomproject.com ) provides an alternative to these fees that allows webcasters to broadcast legally without the need of having thousands of dollars to enter into the industry, by agreeing to terms that help promote the artists they play and thereby increase their CD sales.

By agreeing to the simple terms of the project and placing links on their websites to the artists that they play, broadcasters are given the royalty free right to air songs from the list of artists and labels that have joined the project, and giving those artists increased listeners worldwide.

As the project is very quickly expanding to include artists from a very wide variety of genres and internet based stations, it has the promising probability of becoming one of the most valuable resources for artists and broadcasters since internet broadcasting became a reality.
