The King's College Ranked in Top 50 American Colleges

The King's College is ranked 44th in a national ranking by education experts.

In a national ranking recently carried out by educational experts at TheBestSchools.org, The King's College ranked 44th. With over 2,100 four-year Colleges in the United States, the ranking places King's in the top two percent of American colleges.

Overall rankings were based on five factors:

1. Record of achievement
2. Diversity of study
3. Freedom of inquiry and expression
4. Academic Rigor
5. Low Cost and Minimal Debt

According to the report, particular importance was given to Colleges that develop skill-sets and give students "a springboard to new possibilities." College should "be a time of intense concentration of effort." Furthermore, the writers indicate, "more focus should be on primary sources rather than criticism."

Based on those characteristics, the article describes King's as an institution which "seeks students who want to make a difference in the world."

"It is the combination of King's rigorous education, unique location, and access to New York's best companies and firms that makes us a natural candidate for this list," said President Andy Mills. "Our students are entering the market as well prepared, top performers on day one."

The article describes the King's worldview as, "rooted in the Bible and informed by close study of great works of political theory, philosophy, and economics." Based on this worldview, the King's education "incorporates classroom instruction, extra-curricular commitments, and service to the larger community."

Eric Bennett, Vice President for Student Development said the recent ranking explains why applications to King's have risen exponentially in the past four years. "Our professors prepare students for competition in a global marketplace," Bennett said, "and our location in Manhattan gives students almost unlimited opportunities."
