The Grauer School in Encinitas announced today the results of their annual Parent Survey
Encinitas (I-Newswire) August 16, 2013 - The Grauer School in Encinitas announced today the results of their annual Parent Survey. The data reveals the unprecedented power of the small schools movement with 100% of all parents rating The Grauer School overall as above average or far above average in terms of a well-rounded educational experience and parents agreed with the statement, "The faculty and staff at the school care about me as a parent/guardian". Furthermore, 95% of parents agree with the statement, "My child is learning greater values, such as compassion", and 95% of parents agree with the statement, "The School is meeting its purpose". Overall, 100% of parents agree with the statement, "the climate, atmosphere and culture of the school are appropriate (i.e., it is a healthy, trusting, challenging, non-threatening, safe, professional environment)." By comparison, Family Life Magazine reports that these ratings fall between 60-70% nationwide.
Principal Dana Abplanalp-Diggs, noted, "In reviewing the survey results, it's wonderful to see that we're meeting parent expectations and that it has been consistent year after year. We have been conducting this survey since 1991 and it's important to us that parents know their voices are heard. We are partners in education with our families and it's critical for us to receive affirmation that we're living up to our mission. The data has been consistent over the past 22 years with 90-100% of our families responding with similar complimentary feedback. The results are a testament to our commitment to providing a quality education and balancing college preparation with expeditionary learning in a humanitarian environment."
The Grauer School is an independent, non-profit middle and high school (grades 6-12) accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a member of the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and is the only school in the region to be honored as a designated UNESCO school.
