The Floridian Awards Announce The Best of Miami and The Beaches Awards on December 1, 2012

Inaugural Awards Presented by Ocean Drive Magazine and TMG Entertainment

Miami, FL (I-Newswire) November 1, 2012 - On Saturday, December 1st 2012, TMG Entertainment will present the inaugural Floridian Awards with Ocean Drive Magazine as the presenting media sponsor taking place at the Chapman Conference Center 245 NE Fourth St. Miami, FL 33132. The ceremonies will be hosted by Ian Buchanan (General Hospital & The Bold and the Beautiful) and multi Emmy Award winning journalist Jennifer Valoppi.

The Awards ceremony recognizes excellence and exemplary achievement by individuals and companies throughout South Florida. Over 600 prominent Floridians will join to honor the nominees and winners in the Arts, Leisure, Hospitality, Sports, Entertainment, Retail, and Real Estate industries.

Among the categories are Best Art Festival, Best Museum and Best Law Firm. The complete list of over 200 nominees in 47 categories has been announced on the Awards official Facebook page where the public may vote for their favorite nominees until November 15th. As of today more than 14,000 votes has been cast.

The nominees and special awards were selected by a distinguished nomination committee: Frommer's Florida author Lesley Abravanel, PR guru Sonia Gibson, social photographer Manny Hernandez, Ingrid Hoffmann (Food Network's Simply Delicioso), nightlife legend Gerry Kelly, entertainment lawyer Daniel Novela, The Raleigh Hotel's Crispy Soloperto, and multi Emmy Award winning journalist Jennifer Valoppi. All nominations, votes, and winners are tabulated and certified by the Awards official CPA Scheckner & Hetenyi, PL.

The Floridian Awards will present long time Floridian Charlie Cinnamon with the highest distinction of the Awards ceremony, "The Lifetime Achievement Award," to honor his exemplary contributions to the flourishing of Miami's cultural and social scene.

A portion of the proceeds from The Floridian Awards will go to the American Red Cross South Florida Region to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies in South Florida.
