The Film, Recording and Entertainment Council’s “2012 Star Gala” honors dynamic industry leaders and talent who share a commitment to professional excellence and making a difference in the South Florida community.

FREC announces Artists for The "2012 Star Gala" which will feature some of today’s up and coming international musicians and talent. With many genres of music based out of South Florida the 2012 Star Gala will cover a wide variety of eclectic sounds and cultural music from latin music, pop and mainstream.
The 2012 Star Gala will be hosted by Judge David H. Young and Emmy Award Winning Reporter Trina Robinson of NBC 6. The two make a wonderful tandem to compliment the stable of artists that are coming to perform at the event on November 3, 2012. The event will be held at Magic City Casino located at 450 NW 37th Avenue, Miami, FL 33125 only five minutes from Downtown Miami.
Feature artist for 2012 Star Gala is Madai, she is one of the newest members of Mr. 305, Inc, the first major record label owned by International Superstar PITBULL . Born in Cuba but raised in the United States, a natural songwriter at heart, Madai has joined the ranks of Pitbull to bring her style of music to the world. Penning her own songs she sets out to capture the emotions of her cross cultural roots. Not tied to one genre of music Madai likes to explore her musical talents by combining sounds of Gospel, Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin, Country, Dance and Pop. As well as an being experienced songwriter Madai is a talented singer with a natural dance ability that will make you think about the greats ones before her. Having learned how to dance salsa and merengue from her father she has infused that with her own style of dancing which will wow the eyes. Her lyrics reflect the experience of girls that have traveled the same path as her coming from a bi-cultural background. Although he is in his early 20’s his musical ideas far surpass his age, as he is sure not to disappoint anyone watching the show.
2012 Star Gala will also honor David Cassidy with the FREC Lifetime Achievement Award. David Cassidy’s extraordinary success began on television with “The Partridge Family” which gave him instant stardom and made him a household name. David Cassidy was able to have a spectacular career that has spanned over 4 decades receiving numerous music awards and also an Emmy Nomination. David Cassidy’s latest venture now is to be the face of Alzheimer’s awareness in an effort to educate, raise funds and help people find information on treatments. In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award; FREC will recognize the depth of accomplishments by local industry businesses and talent.
