The Audio Described Performance of the Tony Award® Winning Musical, Gershwin's Porgy and Bess is extremely popular in Seattle's Blind Community. 75 people are planning to attend the event through Vision Loss Connections.

In a long established tradition of supporting accessible live theater, Vision Loss Connections presents an afternoon of award winning music and drama at Seattle's famed 5th Avenue Theater. Guide dogs and white canes users are now cherished, familiar sights in the lobby of Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater.
Winner of the 2012 Tony Award® for best revival of a musical, the national tour of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess is playing in Seattle for a limited time. Award-winning members of the Broadway cast bring this iconic musical to life, built upon the legendary works of George Gershwin, DuBose & Dorothy Heyward and Ira Gershwin.
Porgy and Bess is hitting the road with award-winning Broadway cast members in this stunning and stirring new staging. Accompanied by a lush 23-piece orchestra, this re-envisioned Broadway production include such legendary songs as "Summertime," "It Ain't Necessarily So," and "I Got Plenty of Nothing."
The 5th Avenue Theater offers discounted group ticketing through Vision Loss Connections who then adds an additional subsidy so that musical theater is affordable to people in the Blind Community.
Through Vision Loss Connections the tickets are only $25.00 for a visually impaired theater goer. Vision Loss Connections attendees can also purchase a second ticket for one friend or family member at the reduced and subsidizes ticket price of $25.00.

Vision Loss Connections theater goers will also meet for lunch before the show. Lunch is in a private dining room at The Rock Bottom Restaurant located at 1333 Fifth Avenue. The Rock Bottom Restaurant is located right across the street from the Fifth Avenue Theater.
Vision Loss Connection activities are open to anyone who is blind or low vision. Family members and friends are also a vital part of our group activities and are warmly encouraged to participate. Volunteer involvement is also welcomed!
