Texas Gulf Bank, a 100-year old community bank founded in southern Brazoria County, announces it has opened its newest Houston location in West U. Bob Ittner, former President of Bank of West University/Bank of Texas for 12 years, returns to the neighborhood as President of the new office, located at 5600 Kirby, in the Village Place Center.

Rich Jochetz, President of Texas Gulf Bank, stated, "We're excited to have Bob Ittner heading the office; he really knows the West U market and has deep ties to the neighborhood. Plus, Texas Gulf Bank fills a unique niche in these neighborhoods as a stable, community bank with highly personalized service." Texas Gulf Bank has selectively chosen the Tanglewood, Memorial and West University markets as high growth areas in Houston.

Ittner brings 40 years of experience in lending, management, policy and planning and has served at the senior management level at both major financial institutions and community banks. In addition to his 12 years as President of Bank of Texas and its predecessor, Bank of West University, Ittner served as Senior Vice President for River Oaks Bank/Compass Bank for 16 years.
According to Bob Ittner, "While we understand there is a lot of competition today, our goal is to provide customers with a level of service that they won't find at other banks-a single point of contact, loan decisions made locally and bankers who really know their customers. It's really going back to the way banking used to be while still offering all of the latest products and services."
