SWA Are Helping Decline Youth Unemployment Rates

With their excellent apprenticeship training and management courses, SWA set out to help figures of unemployment fall dramatically.

Keeping a job within a recession is tough enough to do. Getting a job within a recession is virtually impossible. Although many reports state the United Kingdom is now coming out of its recession, there is no doubt it's a long and winding road we face until everyone in the United Kingdom is recession free things will not go back to how they were overnight.

SWA step in here, offering apprenticeships to practically anybody and everybody who is in dire need of a job. Apprenticeships are becoming more and more popular, for employers to advertise with and for potential job hunters to look for. Many more businesses are taking on apprentices thanks to how cheap they are for a business, and how efficiently training will work on someone who is brand new.

Apprenticeships, along with job creation schemes such as the Youth Contract seem to be helping to push down unemployment among 16 to 24-year-olds. Youth unemployment was down 49,000 to 963,000 in the three months to September, or 20.7 per cent of the workforce in that age group, whereas the total among older workers remained flat. Youth joblessness peaked about 1.04m earlier this year but has been falling since then at a slightly faster rate than the overall total.
