Sunrise Fly Shop Celebrates 2011 Opening Day of Trout Season on Big Hole River and Beaverhead River

Clark Canyon Reservoir is currently slightly over 96% full, and the discharge out of the dam is 351 cfs. Because of the excellent water levels in the reservoir, the Beaverhead River was allowed to flow at over 300 cfs all winter long. According to Montana Fisheries Biologists, Overwinter flows in excess of 200 cfs, similar to what was experienced in the early 1980’s and late 1990’s helps produce populations of larger and healthier trout.
