Students Flood the Streets of Atlanta to Distribute Hundreds of Food Boxes to Those in Need December 31st

The Impact Movement is making sure Atlanta's needy are not overlooked this holiday season as nearly 1,000 students prepare to distribute food to the needy on New Year's Eve.

During this season of giving, The Impact Movement is making sure Atlanta's needy are not overlooked this holiday season. On New Year's Eve, from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., college students, recent graduates and young professionals will flood the streets to deliver hundreds of food boxes provided by local non-profit Fountain of Hope as they share a message of hope in communities like Decatur, Marietta, College Park, Stone Mountain and others.

The Day of Outreach is part of Impact13, The Impact Movement's national conference, being held in Atlanta December 28, 2013 through January 1, 2014 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel. In addition to the Day of Outreach, the conference will feature Atlanta-based Christian rap artist Sho Baraka, as well as local pastor Dr. E. Dewey Smith from The Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church, informative workshops and powerful worship through music. Last year, more than 11,000 tons of food were distributed during the conference's annual Day of Outreach event.

"Every year, the Day of Outreach results in life-changing stories of hope, faith and understanding from those most in-need in the community and from young people attending the conference," said Charles Gilmer, President and Board Chairman of The Impact Movement. "We are excited about bringing our national conference back to Atlanta. This is the season of giving and these young people are showing their faith through their works. We encourage the community to come out and support their efforts."

In addition to Fountain of Hope, The Impact Movement is working closely with area churches to plan the Day of Outreach, including Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, In His Image, Zion Baptist Church and Blueprint Church.

Discounted Commuter Rates are currently being offered for conference attendees who live in Atlanta starting at $60 per day. For more information or to register, please visit http://tinyurl.com/krxxttv or call 1-888-672-2896.
