Stockholm Syndrome Comes to Campus

(I-Newswire) June 16, 2009 - Stanton Audemars, creator of the controversial interactive DVD, "Stockholm: An Exploration of True Love", announced today his plan for a college outreach program designed to make young men and women aware of "types of love and relationships hidden and ignored by a culture increasingly dominated by female values."

Audemars has been the target of much feminist ire since the release of his game "Stockholm: An Exploration of True Love." In this interactive video, the viewer must, with a limited number of options, make his female captive fall in love with him. Options include using poison gas and various forms of abuse. Outrage from various feminist groups led to the game being banned from Amazon and other retailers. However, several retailers continue to carry the game, making it easily accessible.

"People have the right to hear all perspectives on the ideas which affect them most," argued Audemars. "And young men and women have the right to recognize that true love does not necessarily involve the kind of mental castration and excessive domestication that it has become associated with." He added that, "The point of 'Stockholm' is not that kidnapping is the path to true love. The point is that the sugar coated nonsense that TV and movies are forcing down our throat is not the only true path. It is a message that college men and women need to hear. Most don't realize that they have a choice in how they approach love and relationships, that choice in relationships does not just mean 'gay or straight'. It also can be polygamistic, dominant, submissive, relaxed, nice, cruel, possessive, etc. The types of love that women have tried to criminalize are no less valid than the types of love that seem to require that men become weak, doting, servile eunuchs."

The outreach program will involve several aspects. First, copies of "Stockholm: An Exploration of True Love" will be made available to student organizations. According to Audemars, "Every student, regardless of what rules he faces in his home, has a right to the truth. I don't think that just because the parents of a college student are excessively feminist or religious that he should be denied access. I want to make sure that every single college student of appropriate age has access to this simulation."

Second, Audemars will be speaking at several colleges and universities during the 2009-2010 school year. "We are already working with several organizations to arrange on-campus speeches and lectures, and more are expressing interest every day," noted Audemars. This currently also involves appearances on major college radio stations.
