Diamond Jewelry manufacturers, Rothem Collection, opened a new subsidiary specializing in loose Russian cut diamonds due to high demand in the USA. The new company’s official address will be in Fairfax, Virginia.

Rothem Diamonds…this will allow us to sell diamonds at direct prices from the manufacturer to the customer, without middle gaps”.

Russian cut diamonds are brighter, more sparkling type of diamonds since their polishing process is a one man procedure from the beginning until the end. Unlike Russian cut diamonds, diamonds from India and other countries are handled by a few pairs of hands, and as a result are less bright and have what is called in professional terms as “clouds” – blots that lessens the diamond’s spark.

When asked why the sudden demand for such diamonds, Rothem elaborates- “ The crises of 2008 was followed by increased sales in the loose diamonds market , people became interested in loose diamonds more than before, and especially in Russian cut diamonds which are known for their beauty, brightness and spark…the demand is still on the go and we shall continue serving our former customers as well as reaching out to a new more versatile market”.

In regard to the subsidiary’s advantage in the market, Rothem says – “Rothem Collection in general has a huge advantage compared to other companies in the loose diamond business, since it receives all its diamonds from its parent company - R.Rothem Diamonds. This allows us to sell diamonds and diamond jewelry at direct manufacturer prices with no middle gap.. Consequently, our subsidiary will do the same”.
