STELLAA hosts Laughing for Literacy Fundraiser at Yuk Yuks Vaughan on Nov. 26, 2009, 7pm -10pm to bring light to Africa's hunger for education while promoting the recycling of books. Tickets cost $25 and include 1 1/2 hrs of comedy, door prizes.

(I-Newswire) November 1, 2009 - Stella’s Training, Education, Literacy Learning, & Academic Assistance (STELLAA) will host its first Laughing for Literacy Fundraiser on November 26th, 2009 from 7pm to 10pm. Friends, family and supporters are invited to join STELLAA at Yuk Yuks Vaughan, 70 Interchange Way, to raise money to help enlighten and educate the youth of Africa. The event is open to the public. The cost of tickets is $25 per person, which includes a full hour and a half of “Comedy Al Dente” with Freddy Proia, Massimo, Sandra Battagini and Vito D’Amico.

STELLAA addresses Africa’s hunger for education, knowledge and information that are plagued by the lack of funds and resources. Supporting attendees will enjoy a night of laugher while participating in raffles, a 50/50 draw and a silent auction. All proceeds from this event will allow STELLAA to send shipments of used books to Africa and build our first library and education center, helping a population of over 2 million. Our libraries and resource centers will not only offer training and employment for those within the community, but also regionally specific and vital classes for those in the community who do not have the money to attend a school.

Nevertheless, STELLAA also has a strong focus on promoting environmental responsibility. Books can do so much more than become recycled paper as their contents is worth more than just the paper that they are printed on. STELLAA focuses on keeping these “no value” books out of landfills and putting them in hands that need them most.

To reserve tickets or for more information about STELLAA, please call 1-877-712-0097; email info@stellaa.org, or visit www.stellaa.org.
