SPORTS ‘N SPOKES Wheelchair Recreation Magazine Readers Enjoy Life After Spinal Cord Injury

7340 McGinnis Ferry Road, Suwanee GA 30024 (I-Newswire) September 2, 2011 - The issue of SPORTS ‘N SPOKES, the sports and recreation magazine of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), features the results of a contest they initiated this summer with the nonprofit program Life After Spinal Cord Injury (LASCI). The joint outreach effort was meant to encourage people with disabilities to “Get Out & Enjoy Life” in all 50 states.

From July 15 to August 15, the S’NS and LASCI Facebook groups shared links to featured accessible programs, places, and events, spotlighting one state per day. Participants posted photos of related family vacations and weekend outings on the Facebook pages or in a photo gallery on the S’NS website. The magazine received more than 100 photo submissions that were judged by a panel of professional photographers.
