Special Award to Prof BR Natarajan at BITSAA Global Meet

Pilani (I-Newswire) January 13, 2011 - Over 1200 BITSians from various parts of the world participated in the meet. The BITSAA Delhi Chapter with the indomitable spirited CS Goel as CEO played a stellar role in making the meet a grand one.

BITSians Vinod Puri President of BITSAA Delhi Chapter was the Chairman of the meet while Prem Cisco Jain and Sudip Guinness Record Jain did the co-chairing.

Eminent alumni who attended the meet included MIT Sloan Prof SP Kothari, Rajesh i-flex Hukku, Baba Bharat Forge Kalyani, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithiviraj Chavan, Sunit Intel Rikhi, Ashok Phas Gaye Re Obama Pandey, Raju Sierra Atlantic Reddy, Gulu Onida Mirchandani, Harish Titan Bhat, Marketing Guru Rajendra Sisodia, Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Ashok Malhotra, MapMyIndia Rakesh Verma and many more. Technology Guru Sam Pitroda was another star attraction for the meet. The meet also had a great music and dance show at Kingdom of Dreams.

On this occasion, the alumni of BITS Pilani presented a special award to Prof BR Natarajan who is presently Pro Vice Chancellor Way to Transform Shridhar University Pilani in recognition of his contribution in keeping alumni updated and connected to BITS Pilani. In his speech, Prof Natarajan said "We alumni cannot change the latitude and longitude of Pilani but we can keep increasing the altitude of Pilani with our achievements".

For over three decades, Prof Natarajan was associated with BITS Pilani Rajasthan from where he obtained his MSc(Hons), BE(Hons), MPhil and PhD. He is well known for his emphasis on taking up any Mission with Passion to prove that there are no dreams too large, no innovation unimaginable and no frontiers beyond reach.

There was a thunderous applause when Prof Natarajan pointed out that the venue of the global meet was brighter not because of the lighting but due to the radiance emitting from the BITSian audience who are dreamers, performers, achievers and leaders who know the way, go the way and show the way. He urged them to remain Proud to be a BITSian lifelong and gave a clarion call to give their passion for the alma mater.
