Ultralingua builds on the popularity of its Spanish-English iOS and Mac dictionary by making it available to Windows Phone users.

Minneapolis, MN (I-Newswire) October 18, 2011 - Amid rapid growth in the number of Marketplace applications in recent months, Ultralingua's new Spanish-English Dictionary and Verbs app fills a previous gap felt by Windows Phone users. Today’s launch brings the first complete Spanish-English reference app to Windows Phone. It provides verb conjugations in Spanish and English, number translation, and thousands of dictionary entries, all with no data connection required.

Ultralingua, known for their full line of reference applications for dozens of languages combinations, makes reference tools for serious language learners, travelers, and business people. This expansion to Windows Phone reaffirms the company’s dedication to providing authoritative language software across mobile platforms.

Ultralingua’s Spanish-English dictionary app for Windows Phone includes:
• Over 290,000 Spanish and English translation entries
• Thousands of Spanish and English verb conjugations in all standard tenses
• Number to text translation in Spanish and English
• Slang, technical language, regional differences in spelling and usage
• Smart search results in case of misspellings or typos
• No internet connection required

The experience of using a smartphone is greatly impacted by the quality of apps available for it. Recognizing this, Microsoft approached Ultralingua about making their Spanish-English Dictionary available in the Windows Marketplace. Ultralingua worked closely with Microsoft throughout the development process to ensure that their Windows Phone apps took advantage of the unique opportunities provided by the platform.

“Our dictionary looks fantastic on Windows Phone’s text-based user interface.” Ultralingua CTO Jeff Ondich explains. “Collaborating with the Windows Phone team on this app allowed us to rethink navigation and display, and we ended up with something we know users will really enjoy.”

Ultralingua has dozens of translation dictionaries available for languages such as German, French, Italian, and Portuguese. While its Spanish-English dictionary is the first of their line to be made available on Windows Phone, the company plans to offer others in the future.

More information on Ultralingua’s Spanish-English dictionary is available on Ultralingua's website and the Windows Marketplace.
