Southern United States Trade Association Invites Small Businesses to Learn Basics of Exporting

New Orleans, LA (I-Newswire) January 11, 2012 - NEW ORLEANS – A Free seminar will show small businesses benefits of exporting. Southern United States Trade Association invites small businesses to learn the basics of exporting and how it can greatly expand their business. Small businesses from across the Gulf Coast can learn the basics of exporting and the resources that are available to them by attending a Jan. 12 seminar sponsored by the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA).

The free event, called "Why Export: A Seminar for Small Businesses," will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Hilton Riverside Hotel, Kabacoff Room, Two Poydras St., in downtown New Orleans. Topics include the advantages of exporting, presented by Dr. Carrie Castille, deputy assistant commissioner of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry; financing, by Warren Bares of J. Maxime Roy, Inc., one of the leading trade credit and political risk insurance brokers in the U.S. and an authorized local representative of the Export-Import Bank; the logistics of exporting, by Keith Guidroz of Gilscot-Guidroz International Co., Inc.; and federal help for small exporters, by Kristin Core, outreach coordinator for SUSTA. Attendees also will hear from a local exporter who has increased revenue through exporting.

SUSTA Executive Director Jerry Hingle will discuss the strong rise in American exports over the past several years, particularly in agriculture and food products, and how small businesses are increasingly tapping international markets.
