Sony Ericsson To Announce Winner Of 2011 Mobile App Awards

London (I-Newswire) June 5, 2011 - In a bid to find the best young global developers and innovators Sony Ericsson have launched the Ericsson Application Awards 2011.

The possibilities of mobile phone apps are inexhaustible and new apps are released on a daily basis. With such a rapid emergence of new creative applications, some useful and some not always, the competition is tough. Among the most successful mobile phone app developers is HipSnip.

Our designers at Moove Agency took great pride in designing the user interface of the HipSnip mobile application that runs on Android platform at the beginning of this year.

HipSnip launched this award winning mobile app as a social shopping tool to remember, learn about, compare & share products and decide what to buy on the go.

HipSnip have recently entered the Application Awards 2011 competition hosted by mobile phone giant Sony Ericsson.

The competition
This international competition opened to both students and small to medium sized enterprises with the objective of developing an application based on the Android platform (Web or Native) that addresses the theme “Connected Things” and makes use of at least one Ericsson Labs API.

The prizes
1st place: €15 000 and phones from Sony Ericsson
2nd place: €10 000 and phones from Sony Ericsson
3rd place: €5 000
4th & 5th place: Honorary Diplomas

So far team HipSnip have been announced the winner of the third stage of the competition, winning a new Sony Ericsson Experia Arc. In April they were entered into the semi-final round of the competition and could go on to win the whole competition.

The winner will be announced later this month.
