Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in California Announces International Yoga Teacher's Training Course

Grass Valley, CA (I-Newswire) February 15, 2012 - The Sivananda Yoga Farm announces its international Teacher's Training Course in California from May 5, 2012 till June 3, 2012. The program is open to serious students of Yoga who would like to deepen in the spiritual practices and asanas.

The course, designed by the renowned teacher Swami Vishnu-devananda, is an intensive immersion in Yoga, balanced between theory and practice. The students that participate in the course come from different backgrounds and cultures and live harmoniously together in a spiritual community under the guidance of teachers. Since 1969, over 24,000 yoga teachers have been trained through the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers' yoga training program.

The course provides a fantastic opportunity to awaken or deepen a yogic practice, meet old and new friends, and to be a part of the global yoga community which is growing each day. The best part of all is learning that everything we need is already within us and how the practices can lead us into accessing our gifts and beauty from the inside out. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice that was born in ancient India, but that is well known in California. Keeping a traditional Yoga lineage, the course enfasizes spiritual practices such as daily adherence to discipline, meditation, Sanskrit mantra chanting, Hindu gods and goddesses, ceremonial worships such as puja, strict vegetarianism, selfless service and study of philosophy constitute a large part of the course.

Graduates of the training course receive internationally recognized certification. Certified by the worldwide Yoga Alliance for the 200 hours standard for Registered Yoga Schools (RYS).

About Sivananda Yoga Farm:
In 1971, Swami Vishnu-devananda returned to California and founded the third ashram in the young Sivananda International organization: the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm on 40 acres of land located in the Gold Country of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills in Northern California.
