ShoreTel Revs Up Williams F1 Team Operations with Unified Communications

Integrated communications will facilitate the team's on-track activities at all races

ShoreTel® (NASDAQ: SHOR), the leading provider of brilliantly simple unified communications (UC) platforms, including contact centre and mobile UC solutions, announced a technical partnership with the Williams F1® Team to deliver a comprehensive UC infrastructure across the Williams enterprise, maximising collaboration with team-wide race strategists for peak productivity and performance.

ShoreTel became an Official Supplier for the UK-based team from June 2013 through December 2014 - the majority of the 2013 Formula One™ season and the entirety of the 2014 race calendar. A highlight of the partnership will be the 2013 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix Night Race, recognised by the Williams F1 Team as a special event anticipated every year, for its unique combination as the only night race of the season and one of the most challenging tracks set against the city landscape of the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

During the 2013-2014 Formula One seasons, ShoreTel will offer its industry-leading UC solutions across the full breadth of the Williams organisation, including the Williams F1 team and its Advanced Engineering operations around the world. In addition, ShoreTel's integrated communications will facilitate the team's on-track activities at all the races, as well as the infrastructure at the Technology Centre in Qatar, to ensure seamless end-to-end global teamwork.

In particular, ShoreTel is providing a ShoreTel IP-PBX, ShoreTel Mobility client licenses to extend UC applications to mobile devices, Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) handsets, conferencing services, and a ShoreTel Enterprise Contact Centre (ECC) with multimedia capabilities for unsurpassed Williams F1 Team communications before, during and after the races.

"This exciting affiliation with the Williams F1 Team showcases ShoreTel's cutting-edge technology in an increasingly popular global sport, with millions of fans, millions of dollars in sponsorships and merchandising, as well as drivers who are as revered as Olympic medalists - pushing zero-failure tolerance communications to their limits in the quest for the coveted world championship title," said Bruce Downing, ShoreTel's Managing Director, Asia and South Africa. "We are joining forces with one of the world's leading engineering companies that appreciates our award-winning UC telephony solutions that are fine tuning Williams' day-to-day operations, as well as their race-day connectivity between the drivers, pit teams, logistics experts and principals."

"I am pleased to welcome ShoreTel as Official Supplier of the team in what promises to be a rewarding relationship for both parties," said Claire Williams, Deputy Team Principal and Commercial Director of the Williams F1 Team. "Williams is a diverse and multi-disciplined engineering business, which relies on high-quality, mission-critical communications; so this cooperation with ShoreTel is one which will benefit not only the Formula One team, but every area of our business as we continue to diversify and expand into new areas."

In addition, for this year's Singapore Grand Prix, ShoreTel has secured Formula One Paddock Club™ passes for its key partners and top customers across the region. During the three-day race weekend, ShoreTel's entourage will have the privilege of enjoying a private tour of the Williams garage - where they will see the team mechanics and engineers working closely on the 2.4 litre V8 engine Formula One cars.

They will come to appreciate the expansive tyre collections required to meet variable track characteristics and weather conditions. And then, they will visit the pit lane, where the anticipation will build throughout the weekend, knowing that Formula One races are frequently won and lost based on the precision timing of the pit crew during pit stops. Finally, with seats located in the premier hospitality suites, ShoreTel and its guests will take in unrivalled views of all the track action.

"Our Williams liaison will be a great opportunity for ShoreTel and our valued partners and customers to experience the excitement of the Singapore Grand Prix Night Race weekend, whilst celebrating our relationship with the Williams F1 Team," concluded Downing.
