Shooter Auctions Makes Donation
Shooter Auctions Donates to Husker Dan's Army and Husker Salute
South Carolina (I-Newswire) January 20, 2012 - Jack Autry of Shooter Auctions has made a donation of $1,300 to Husker Dan's Army and Husker Salute. Shooter Auctions conducted an auction of a new 1911 Colt Commander handgun in conjunction with the HuskerMax tailgate at the Capital One Bowl. By combining the auction with donations received online and at the tailgate the total received was $1300. Shooter Auctions is proud to be able to support Husker Dan’s Army and the Husker Salute. This is the second donation since they began in October of 2011 dedicated to helping service men and women. So far they have donated over $3000.
Gary McGirr (Husker Salute) and Dan McGlynn (Husker Dan's Army) had this response: Mr Jack Autry wanted to help our organizations by holding an online auction to sell a very nice gun. We were very surprised when we opened the mail Saturday January 14, 2012, and found a check for $1,300. That is most outstanding of Jack Autry. His generosity is most welcome. We really appreciate this great gift. This will be very beneficial as we work to continue to provide support for our troops and families. Husker Dan's Army and Husker Salute are very appreciative of Jack's generosity.

About Husker Dan's Army: Husker Dan's Army was started by Dan McGlynn and Gary McGirr several years ago with the purpose of providing support to our troops fighting overseas in the form of care packages that contain game DVDs and Husker apparel and memorabilia.
About Husker Salute: Husker Salute is also the result of Dan and Gary's efforts to support the troops. It began four years ago. Their mission is to salute Nebraska soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines: active duty, National Guard, reserve, retired and veterans, to say “Thank you for your service to our Nation” so they know the Husker Nation will never forget their sacrifice and dedication. This is done in the form of a Husker Salute weekend where current and former members of the military are treated to a weekend in Lincoln during an away game. The events of the weekend include a welcoming reception, tour of Memorial Stadium, watch party for an away game with tailgate food, and Sunday prayer breakfast. The weekend includes lodging at the Cornhusker Marriott and is supported entirely by sponsors.
