Alexandria, Egypt (I-Newswire) April 21, 2011 - Go Green..Think Green .. is now the new motto Sheraton Montazah Hotel Alexandria Egypt is adopting since it started their green initiatives and environmental friendly processes in the last 10 years.

"A generation of eco-friendly and socially responsible travelers are now making considerable conscious choice to enterprises that care for the environment.

Hotel chains that started offering the guest not to have the bed linen changed daily or use towels more than once was previously perceived as a " saving trick" but that was a decade ago" said Atef Wilson, General Manager.

"Nowadays, many travelers understand the need of such practices and support green choices very strongly.

On the other hand, pollution, waste disposal, use of non sustainable materials have turned many well located and nicely furnished hotels into unperformed choices", added Wilson.


Hence, a sustainability plan is being now implemented at Sheraton Montazah Alexandria-Egypt where we placed containers for garbage separation for our guests in both the public areas and partially in hotel rooms as phase one.


Recycling activities are crucial part of Sheraton Montazah campaign. Together with " Veolia" (waste removal company) we introduced our waste recycling and management program.


By such practice, we would like to assure to our guests that all recyclable and waste stuff are being properly and safely managed.


When it comes to carbon dioxide, there was a huge consumption per occupied room and to reduce that amount, Sheraton Montazah has improved energy saving lighting and water using low voltage bulbs and sensors for low water flow.


Also, it was crucial to enlighten hotel associates about environmental issues and promote sustainable thinking of employees at all levels from energy saving in all operational areas, light bulbs, water conservation in low-flush toilets, eco-friendly hotel cleaning products to avoid using Styrofoam in food storage.
