SGS Appoints New Vice President, Global Business Development and Marketing Industrial Services

1211 (I-Newswire) October 18, 2011 - SGS Industrial Services is pleased to announce Mr. Dave Smith as the new Vice President of Global Business Development & Marketing, Industrial Services, based in Camberley, United Kingdom.

Dave has assumed responsibility for sales and business development at SGS Industrial Services globally. In his new role, he will support the local and regional teams in implementing the Industrial Services’ global strategy, and be responsible for a focused, project driven approach in strategic markets as well as specific initiatives within the respective regions. Furthermore, Dave and the global team will identify and pursue business opportunities and strategies with regional and global customers and support local affiliates to strengthen local sales activities. In conjunction with the global marketing team, he will provide support to implement and deliver local and global marketing plans as well as coordinate local, regional and global exhibitions. In addition, Dave will work closely with other SGS business lines in order to effectively bundle and cross-sell all SGS services.

Dave’s educational background is in Business, Sales & Marketing and his main strength lies in the depth of experience and expertise gained from over twenty years of sales, business, management and leadership experience in a variety of sectors. In 1990 Dave began his career 1990 in the plastics industry in Australia where he held a number of different management positions from State Manager through to Regional Business Development Manager. In 2000 he joined SGS with the Pink Hygiene business where he was the General Manager. In 2007 he was appointed to the position of Managing Director for the Rentokil Initial, Hygiene Services Division and in November 2008, he re-joined SGS Australia as a consultant where he guided and assisted a number of divisions within Australia on specific projects and was appointed General Manager for the Industrial Division in Australia in August 2009.

Two years later, on October 1, 2011, Dave was appointed as Vice President Global Business Development & Marketing Industrial Services.
