Seventh Annual Doral Business Council International Awards

Three South Florida Entities and an Individual to be Recognized

Doral Business Council (DBC) will hold its 7th Annual International Achievement Awards breakfast on Tuesday, November 12 at the Trump National Doral Miami. The International Achievement Awards breakfast serves to recognize an International Business, Association, and Government Agency of the year as well as distinguish an individual as the Game Changer.

This year, the DBC will present Charlotte Gallogly, President of World Trade Center Miami, with the Game Changer Award for her tireless efforts managing international programs and engaging overseas businesses with Miami companies that have resulted in billions of dollars in sales and brought more than 100,000 international executives to Miami.

George W. Foyo will receive the Company Award on behalf of Baptist Health South Florida. Baptist Health South Florida is a leader in bringing international patients to South Florida and has developed several projects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Foyo is executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Baptist Health South Florida and has under his responsibility International Services.

The Association Award will be presented to the Miami Council for International Visitors (MCIV). Annette Green Alvarez, Executive Director, will receive the award on behalf of the organization. MCIV, promotes programs that provide a professional and cultural exchange and foster global friendships and goodwill between international visitors and people from the communities of South Florida.

Miami-Dade Economic Development and International Trade Board will be presented with the Government Agency Award. At the international level, Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz, who will be accepting the award, serves as Chairman of the International Trade Consortium Board and is an advocate for trade and forging partnerships with other nations. The International Trade Board has made profitable connections for businesses on behalf of Miami-Dade County with the Caribbean and Latin America.

"All of this year's recipients have demonstrated great leadership in connecting Doral and South Florida with the rest of the world," said Nelson Peer, DBC Chairman.

The Keynote speaker at the breakfast will be Diane Sanchez, CEO of Technology Foundation of the Americas. Ms. Sanchez was brought in by Manny Medina to head up the Foundation's operation and outreach efforts to have Miami serve as the global hub for technology.
