Local dental practice donating time to provide free dental care to those in need.

On Saturday, October 23, Dr. David Ahearn and his colleagues will volunteer their time and talents to provide complimentary dental care to local residents at the Third Annual Dentistry From The Heart event. The event is in conjunction with Dentistry From the Heart, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those in need.

This year’s Dentistry From The Heart event will take place at Dr. Ahearn’s local practice, Southcoast Smiles, at 185 Highland Avenue Seekonk, MA from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Registration will begin at 7:30 AM.

Adults in need of dental work are urged to stop by Southcoast Smiles, located near Panera Bread, where hygienists will provide cleanings, and doctors will be performing fillings and extractions, all free of charge. Participation is on a first come, first serve basis. Appointments are not necessary, but visitors are advised to arrive early to register.

This is the third time Dr. Ahearn and his staff have hosted the Dentistry From The Heart event, but the first time at the recently opened Seekonk location. Previous events have been highly successful and appreciated by both the volunteers and patients.
Dr. Ahearn says of the event, “My staff and I look forward to this event every year, because we know there are many people out there who simply can’t afford dental care at this time. Last year we donated over $30,000 of treatment to those in need. It’s such a great feeling to be able to give back to our community in this way.”
