Sarasota to Benefit from Economic Impact of World-Class Assisted Living Community
Autumn, the Gulf Coast’s premier developer in the assisted living industry, has finalized plans to begin construction on a new, state-of-the-art assisted living campus at 3251 Proctor Road in Sarasota, Florida.
Sarasota, FL (I-Newswire) October 30, 2012 - Autumn, the Gulf Coast’s premier developer in the assisted living industry, has finalized plans to begin construction on a new, state-of-the-art assisted living campus at 3251 Proctor Road in Sarasota, Florida. The community, named Autumn of Sarasota, is set to break ground in the first quarter of 2013 with an expected cost of over $65 million.
The new community will create 200 to 250 professional jobs when fully operational. These positions will include medical care providers, nurses, administrators and physical therapy specialists. The project will also provide many jobs in the local construction industry, a segment that’s been hit particularly hard by the recent downturn in the economy.
“We’re excited about creating a world-class assisted living community that will offer the elderly the support they need and deserve. We’re proud that we’re doing our part to create viable, long-term jobs for Sarasota,” said Jim Soper, CEO of Autumn. “This project will generate great opportunities for community businesses.”
While the job creation aspect of such a project is welcome news to residents of Sarasota, community leaders have also pointed out that the new campus will add to the rejuvenation of an area that is becoming a vibrant, thriving neighborhood.
Phase I of Autumn of Sarasota will be completed in time for New Year’s Day 2014. It will include 80 memory care residences. Phase II will have 120 “I-Lite” residences. I-Lite is Autumn’s innovative concept of Independent Living, with assisted living care. The final phase, scheduled to be completed in 2015, will expand to an additional 120 I-Lite residences.
Commented Jim Soper, “Autumn of Sarasota is your home. You no longer have to ‘transition’ to assisted living, assisted living transitions to you. Ultimately, we’re about fun.”
