San Rafael Architectural Firm Becomes a Certified Green Business

Share |

VMI Architecture has fulfilled the requirements of the Bay Area Green Business Program and is now certified and recognized as a Bay Area Green Business.

(I-Newswire) October 15, 2009 - San Rafael, CA, October 14, 2009 - VMI architecture has made a conscious shift to pursue sustainable design projects and establish green office policies and practices and has now become a certified green business. The firm believes that being green is not just the right thing to do, it is the only thing to do and that it will pay off in future benefits not just for the planet but for the bottom line. The Bay Area Green Business Program promotes businesses that “protect, preserve and sustain our environment”.

In difficult economic times it makes sense to invest in upgrading buildings one already owns to be more energy efficient and to make needed changes in office procedures and processes to reduce operating costs in the long term. As VMI researched requirements to become certified, they found they were already about 75% of the way to compliance, and the changes required to become 100% compliant were readily achievable.

The firm has also recently joined the Green Chamber of Commerce in an effort to be proactive in the community and be even more effective as a green advocate. VMI is happy to explain to any interested businesses how they too can become a green business.
