San Jacinto Valley Celebrates Multicultural Tourism Throughout September
Three free multicultural tourism events occur in the San Jacinto Valley in September and are expected to bring thousands of visitors to the area.
San Jacinto (I-Newswire) September 12, 2013 - Three free multicultural tourism events occur in the San Jacinto Valley in September and are expected to bring thousands of visitors to the area.
On Sunday, September 15, the City of San Jacinto celebrates their Hispanic Heritage with the first annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. Located on Main Street, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, the Hispanic Heritage festival is a free family event featuring music, food, dancers, a car show and lots of fun.
The following weekend brings two more multicultural tourism events to the valley. Native American heritage is celebrated September 20 through 22 with the 17th Annual Payomkawichum Soboba Inter Tribal Powwow held at the Soboba Event Center next to the Casino. More than 400 dancers from across North America are expected to participate in the 3 day event drawing hundreds of visitors to the valley.
The Powwow is open to the public with free admission. There will be a drum contest, dance contests, bird singing, dancing, and peon games. Grand entry dances will be held on September 20 at 7:00 pm,September 21 at 1:30 and 8:00 pm, and September 22 at 1:00 pm. Vendors will offer a wide array of traditional foods and authentic Native arts and crafts including jewelry, pottery, clothing, beadwork and basketry items.
September 20 through 22 is also the 3rd Annual Agricultural Festival at the Estudillo Mansion Grounds in the city of San Jacinto. With free admission, the Agricultural Festival features agricultural competitions, pony and carriage rides, tractor display, vendors, a full Carnival with rides and games, live entertainment and plenty of food. The hours for the festival are September 20, 5:00 to 10:00 pm,September 21,10:00 am to 10:00 pm and September 22,11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
