San Francisco Artists Join Forces To Release New Album "Conspire"

San Francisco-based Americana Folk artist, Kelly McFarling and Indie singer/songwriter, Lia Rose join forces to release new album, “Conspire” on Wednesday, May, 2 2012.

90046 (I-Newswire) May 3, 2012 - SAN FRANCISCO, CA –  Americana Folk songstress Kelly McFarling and Indie singer/songwriter Lia Rose have been independently building buzz in the San Francisco music circuit as noteworthy performers and songwriters - each bringing a distinctive yet complimentary style to the bay area canon.  McFarling and Rose are joining forces on May 2nd to release “Conspire,”  a 12-track album with six brand new songs from each artist.

McFarling and Rose first met in August 2011 at an evening show in the Mission District.  McFarling was taken by Rose’s powerful and intimate songwriting and her gentle yet piercing vocals.  Rose was struck by McFarling’s powerhouse singing and haunting instrumentation. McFarling, who had been on the folk circuit since 2008, was delivering lyrically robust songs that were loaded with soul and accompanied by her signature clawhammer banjo style.  Rose had been making her mark as an indie rock darling since 2005 in bands such as Built for the Sea, Minipop, and San Francisco indie heroes Or, The Whale.

Rose and McFarling had an instant connection and began collaborating musically, culminating in the idea to bridge their musical worlds. Thus, their idea was born with the creation of "Conspire," an album of 12 songs -- 6 tracks from each artist -- featuring the same backing band with some of San Francisco’s finest musicians.  On Wednesday, McFarling and Rose will release “Conspire,” the final product of their collaboration: 12 fresh tracks for the Indie Folk Americana fans of San Francisco.

McFarling and Rose are taking the stage at San Francisco's Rickshaw Stop (155 Fell Street San Francisco, CA 94102) on Wednesday, May 2nd at 8:00PM to celebrate the official launch of “Conspire.” For event and ticket information, visit  http://www.rickshawstop.com/

"What's most remarkable about Kelly is something more universal ... when she felt a void, she filled it herself. She taught herself the banjo to fill it. She moved to San Francisco to fill it. She slept in the Austin dirt to fill it, and she probably slept more soundly than most because of it." -- Phil Lang, Director of Music Operations at BAMM.tv

"...She sat atop a stool barefoot, living behind her bangs, singing from her heart and the audience loved it ... her voice seemed to linger around the room with a dream-like quality ... she sounded a bit unreal." -- The Owl Mag
