Online, May 23, 2010 (Newswire.com) - San Diego, CA----San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) is participating in Operation Caregiver™, by serving as a relief kit assembly location and donating a storage unit at the Sorrento Mesa facility prior to distributing to military troops overseas. The kits include letters of encouragement, homemade or store-bought cookies in crush-proof boxes, powdered drink mixes, hard candy, Gold Bond dusting powder, shaving gel, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss picks, sunblock and Chapstick.
Operation Caregiver is a nationwide program operated under the Victory Fund of the Nice Guys non-profit organization that provides relief to troops stationed in remote locations living under primitive conditions. They reside in foxholes, tents, Humvees or unoccupied structures with no air conditioning or heating systems. They do not have access to basic hygiene or comfort items and often exist for months without a shower or hot meal. Operation Caregiver responds to these needs by delivering Caregiver Kits™ comprised of toiletry and snack items. The kits are mailed overseas to a command level Sergeant Major who distributes the supplies to the troops that need it the most.
