The Samsung Galaxy Note was not expected to last, as it was making a weird niche for itself in a prospering cellular and tablet market. Samsung trusted, though, that there were people who didn't want a phone and a tablet but wanted something inbetween and they were correct. Not only did the "phablet" survive, it thrived. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has some important upgrades, including a slimmer body, bigger and better screen, more powerful processor and interesting functions. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 measures 5.94 by 3.17 by 0.37 inches with a smooth finish, curved corners, slim body and almost invisible bezel. There are few pockets it will fit into, however, it will fit in a bag or clutch.

The screen is Samsung's best to date - 5.5 inches, 720x1280 pixel resolution, Super AMOLED technology, 16:9 ratio and 267 ppi. Colors look great, detail is crisp and viewing angles are wide. Equipped with Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and Nature UX, so it has the S Voice, although Google's personal butler is much, much better. Inside is a Exynos 4412 1.6GHz processor with 2GB of RAM, making this thing extremely fast. The Note 2 comes with an S-Pen that has its own unique features. Write down notes while on a call, jot down quick reminders, or use it with the multi-app feature that's unique to the Note 2.

The Galaxy Note 2 has a large surface area, so protecting the phone with a protective cover is especially important. The OtterBox Commuter Series case for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone offers the best of both worlds; incorporating elements from the rugged Defender Series line with the silicone, skin-like Impact Series line to create a slick Samsung Galaxy Note 2 case designed with style in mind. It's protection without the bulk. The exposed silicone corners dissipate impact away from the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 device for additional bump and shock protection and the smooth outer layer allows the case to feel comfortable while the user is holding the phone. All buttons are fully functional through the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 case and all ports are accessible through silicone plugs.

Because the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is such a large phone, most people will probably not want to hold it up to their ear while on a call. So a Bluetooth headset is a necessity. The HM6000 sounds as good as it looks. Engineered with revolutionary Samsung isolating dual-mic noise canceling technology, this headset eliminates unwanted background interference. When coupled with a Bluetooth-enabled multimedia device, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 headset plays music and media through its earpiece. The HM6000 is also packed with features, such as voice command and voice prompts to answer and make calls with simple commands. Thanks to text-to-speech capabilities offered through the FreeSync Android application, the user can even customize a variety of handset settings, including caller ID, alarms, and more.
