Samoan Eco Resort First

B&D Enterprises Holding Ltd is installing a bio-waste management system which will give Samoa its first Waste to Energy resort and allow this resort to become acknowledged as an Eco Friendly Resort.

B&D Enterprises Holding Ltd (BDEHL) a local Samoan company is installing a network of biodigesters across the resort to handle all sewage and food wastes from the resorts activities. The biogas is to be utilized in providing power for the grey water treatment plant and provide a storage facility for the biogas to be utilized for either staff kitchen or outer lamps for bar or restaurant areas.

The Grey Water Treatment Plant is processing all waste water from showers, basins and kitchens on the resort, this will be utilized for irrigational purposes as the treated water will save on freshwater usage for irrigation, contain the grey water from seepage to the local environment and also enhance the growth of the landscaped gardens and trees in the resorts surrounds.

BDEHL is also incorporating a small SCADA (Plant Management System) PC based with Internet connectivity so as the system can not only be monitored by BDEHL but will also provide the local staff with simple viewing of the status of their biogas plant which will ensure its operational effectiveness.

The system is simple in design and can be easily maintained without utilizing many hours of maintenance schedules. As long as the system is continually fed with waste.the operation will continue effortlessly. These systems are perfect in design for these remote regions and require no specialist staff to maintain them.

This resort facility will be used by BDEHL as a showcase for other resorts in the region of how they can utilize all waste and re-use to make their resorts eco-friendly, reduce operational costs and provide a unique experience for their hotel guests.
