Sacred Language Communications Launched

Sacred Language Communications (SLC) is a new firm at the forefront of helping churches use their existing communication channels to develop two-way learning opportunities that strengthen your church's ministries.

The numbers of churches using email, e-newsletters, and web pages is rising rapidly. But having these electronic tools in hand does not ensure greater clarity of communication. In fact, many church leaders find that managing these communication channels is not only more complicated than traditional print publications, but more time consuming and, at times, less rewarding.

"In the world of church communications, too much thinking about electronic communications is based on pushing information out," says Martin Davis, the firm's founder and principal, "and not enough emphasis is placed on the two-way learning exchange that must occur to make electronic communications worth while."

It is this emphasis on two-way learning that sets Sacred Language Communications apart. Services offered will include:

• Mini-conferences: Two hour gatherings of 15-30 religious leaders that include lunch, a free publication, and guided dialogue on two-way communication in electronic media.

• E-newsletter Training: SLC will work with your congregation to shape or reshape your e-newsletter, ensuring that you have a tool that not only communicates information, but becomes among the most important tools you have for learning about your members.

• Writer training: Learning to write effectively need not be difficult, but it does require some focus and feedback. SLC will work with your staff to help them become effective written-language communicators.

• Communications Inventory: If you feel that your communication channels are out of control, SLC will rein them in, sync their purposes, and put you firmly in the driver's seat.

About Sacred Language Communications

At Sacred Language Communications we believe what churches need are not more tools, but a better understanding of how the tools they have, or hope to add, should be deployed in the service of clear language--to assist leaders in talking with their members and to enable leaders in learning about their members. This leads to better understanding and stronger ministries.
