S2S Appoints Director of Logistics

London (I-Newswire) January 19, 2012 - London - Martin Lyon has been appointed Director of Logistics & Supply Chain Development for management and investment company S2S Group’s new supply chain operation.

S2S’s newly formed 4PL enterprise is the first operator able to offer complete end to end supply chain services in the Middle East.

The appointment supports S2S as it establishes itself in the market and develops its innovative 4PL logistics operation. He will be based in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.

As well as establishing S2S’s new 4PL logistics operation, Martin will also be helping S2S to establish a new 3PL logistics operation, Universal Logistics Group (ULG), in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on behalf of a client.

S2S Managing Partner Samir Sunbol said: “We are now in the process of appointing the senior management team that will lead our new 4PL enterprise as well as developing ULG on behalf of our client.

“Martin’s in-depth knowledge and experience of both the logistics industry and the Middle East will be vital assets as we establish ourselves in the logistics market.”

Martin joins from Williams Medical Supplies, where he was Director of Operations, and is able to draw on more than 35-years’ experience in the logistics industry.

Before joining S2S, he worked for a range of leading service providers throughout the Middle East and Europe as well as Africa.

S2S’s 4PL management services will be completely impartial, utilising the most efficient and effective logistics providers on the market and offering clients a single point of contact and consistently high service across the region.

S2S Group was appointed to establish the management team that will lead ULG after a systematic overview of the market revealed there were no global logistics operators capable of offering a complete supply chain solution in Saudi Arabia.

ULG’s 3PL enterprise will offer complete logistics services, including air and sea freight forwarding, trucking and warehousing.
