Ryan Harris to be Recognized as Outstanding Trial Lawyer by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego

Harris will receive the award for his work in obtaining a $13.3 million jury trial verdict in an auto accident case in 2009. At trial, Harris represented a 19 year old young lady who suffered severe injuries from a head-on collision.

The insurance company for the negligent driver initially refused to offer any money to settle the case because the driver had been rear-ended by another vehicle before colliding with Harris’ client.

However, through his investigation of the case, Harris was able to obtain the black box data recorder from the driver’s Chevy Silverado. The data recorder demonstrated the driver had been braking aggressively in the last seconds before the accident. This was a key piece of evidence the jury relied upon in awarding the verdict.
