The Canadian Short Screenplay Competition (CSSC) - the most prestigious short film script contest in Canada - is thrilled to announce 3rd place winner Daniel Audet’s script, Rusted Pyre, has been selected to receive the NSI's 2010 Drama Prize.

(I-Newswire) January 29, 2010 - The Drama Prize is a market-driven film training program for emerging Canadian filmmakers. Four teams are selected each year to take part in the program and Rusted Pyre managed to make it’s way to the top of over 60 submissions for the prize. 

The team is comprised of a Writer (Audet) , director (Laurence Cohen) and producer (CSSC’s David Cormican). Each team will attend a week long boot camp and training sessions while accessing some of this countries top professional industry contacts.

“I’m just blown away”, says Cormican. “To be able to bring Daniel to Winnipeg (NSI) for this kind of experience is exactly what the CSSC is all about: championing screen writers and getting their work produced and in front of audiences”.

Successful teams receive $10,000 in cash and $30,000 in services towards the production of their short film (under 10 minutes) under the guidance and mentorship of senior industry professionals. The boot camp will see all three members of the Rusted Pyre team flown to Winnipeg in March to participate in the week-long intensive.
