"Run Powai Run!", Urge Rotary Club Of Mumbai Lakers, Once Again!

Second marathon in January 2013."This year we hope that the participation will be more than double of what we had last year. The aim is to get people to be active and exercise which is good for health."

Powai (I-Newswire) December 18, 2012 - The Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers (RCML), along with Dr L.H. Hiranandani Hospital joined hands in January 2012 for the ‘Run Powai Run' Marathon. The event was organized to raise awareness about health, and to raise funds for charity.

With astounding participation of over 2500 people for the good cause, the RCML were able to raise funds for the solar electrification of the rural town of Jawahar and towards education of the girl child.

Eager to spread the goodwill further, the club has planned a second marathon in January 2013. Dr Chatterjee, CEO of Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital informs, "This year we hope that the participation will be more than double of what we had last year. The aim is to get people to be active and exercise which is good for health. Also it can serve in time to be the prelude for the more famous runs that occur in Mumbai."

The success of the first year is inspiring enough for its organizing members to believe that one good turn deserves another! Says Ravi Jaswani, President Elect - RCML, "Following the response last year, we're keen to boost the spirit again. With the concrete backing of the Hiranandani Group, and with corporates such as Kotak Bank, FedEx and Digit 9.0 supporting us, Run Powai Run 2013 will be an event to look out for."
