The Black Weblog Awards recognize the best and brightest in Black social media. Lifestyle and music blogger Rox Fontaine of Mount Vernon, NY is nominated for four awards; Best Hip-Hop, Music, Lifestyle and Photography blog.

live in a ceremony on July 9, 2011 in Los Angeles, CA.
Los Angeles, CA - June 1, 2011- The Black Weblog Awards have announced the
finalists for the 2011 Black Weblog Awards. The awards are an annual celebration of
Black social media excellence and Rox Fontaine is a finalist for Best Hip Hop Blog.

The Black Weblog Awards was founded in 2005 to give recognition to Black bloggers
(and those of the African diaspora), which are normally largely overlooked by other
Internet award events on, and offline. Members of the public through an online
nomination process selected finalists. Blog award winners will be determined by popular
vote. Online voting ends June 17, 2001.

“The Black Weblog Awards create amazing energy each year within the Black
blogosphere,” said Gina McCauley, the Executive Director of the 2011 Black Weblog

This year in the first time in the seven-year history of the Black Weblog Awards, the
winners will be announced in a live ceremony in Los Angeles, CA on July 9, 2011 during
the 2011 Blogging While Brown Conference. “I am delighted and excited that the Black
