ROJO Hires Three, Hopeful From Uptick in Project Inquiries

ROJO increases size based on increased project inquiries, hiring three new professionals.

33610 (I-Newswire) December 12, 2011 - OJO Architecture has hired three new professionals: two new project managers and one new interior designer, in order to meet current project schedules and future growth projections. While the economy continues to sputter, ROJO has seen an increase in medical, hospitality, educational and custom residential inquiries.

Jose Calle, AAIA, NCARB, a long time Tampa resident, relocated to ROJO to focus on project management for large scale custom residential and medical projects. He states “ROJO offers project diversity, a great work environment and long term vision for success. All of these line up with my career path and I am excited to be here.”

John Greenland, AAIA, LEED AP, NCARB was recruited from Lincoln, Nebraska and was hired as a project manager. A Florida native and product of the University of Florida, College of Architecture, John brings his detailing and design skills to ROJO’s hospitality and custom residential projects. John describes his new work and says “It’s nice to be back in Florida working with a group that is young and excited to be architects in Tampa Bay.”

Jamie Inskeep, ASID was recruited from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She transferred to ROJO from a larger firm working in corporate and hospitality interior design. Ms. Inskeep will manage all of the firm’s interior design, including medical, custom residential, and hospitality. “Working at ROJO is an exciting challenge to manage design, relationships and schedules. It’s great to be in Florida and I’m excited to have a Christmas without snow!”

Sometimes seen as the “canary in the mine”, architects are often the source of market projections and markers of major economic trends. Prior to opening a new business or an influx of construction jobs, a project must be designed and drawn. Timelines of 12-24 months in planning are not uncommon prior to public announcement / construction start. “While we are busy working, there is still growth necessary to confirm the recession is over,” comments Jonathan Moore, AIA, Principal of ROJO Architecture. “We’re happy for our growth and we are hopeful for market improvements in 2012.”

ROJO has survived the market conditions with their diversity in project types. While current trends focus on medical, multi-family, hospitality and custom residential, ROJO has completed over 85 church projects, hundreds of commercial office projects, schools, childcare and financial institutional projects.
