Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr. is proud to announce his awards for 2011. He won a total of 15 awards over three contests into which he only entered 13 images. This is a win percentage unmatched by any other contemporary photographer.
Portland (I-Newswire) November 2, 2012 - Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr. is proud to announce his awards list for 2011. It was a banner year for the renowned nature photographer, who won a total of 15 awards over three contests into which he only entered 13 images. This is a win percentage unmatched by any other contemporary photographer, made even more impressive considering that the only three contests Rodney Lough Jr. entered were among the most prestigious photographic contests on the planet.
Rodney Lough Jr. won a grand total of six awards in the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) International Print Competition, five awards in the Epson International Pano Awards, and four awards at the International Loupe Awards.
The PPA is the world’s largest association for professional photographers. The PPA’s International Print Competition celebrates superior photographic achievement. Rodney’s images “Desire,” “Shangri La” and “t-Minus 19:07” all won both merit awards and loan awards, the highest awards any images can win. Loan awards mean the competition has chosen the images to represent it in a traveling show.
The Epson International Pano Awards recognize the best panographic photographs in the world. Rodney won Silver for his images “Shangri La” and “The Monument Valley,” and Bronze for “River of Silence,” “Arise” and “End of a Perfect Day.” Every image he entered won an award!
Judged by 25 leading photographers, the International Loupe Awards are a showcase of the best photography from around the world. Rodney entered four images, and won awards with all of them. His Loupe Award winning works are “Above it All,” “Day Dreaming,” “River of Silence” and “The Monument Valley.”
This was a great year for Rodney Lough Jr., with his spectacular wilderness photography receiving the recognition it deserves. However, he won’t rest on his laurels; the years to come will surely bring even more justly deserved awards.
