Robin Cole was drafted in 1977 as the number one overall pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers where he played 11 seasons as a linebacker (#56), followed by one season with the New York Jets. During the “Steel Curtain Era”, Robin was a member of an outstanding Pittsburgh Steelers roster earning two Super Bowl victories in Super Bowl XII and Super Bowl XIV. His teammates will tell you that amongst his peers, Robin is considered one of the best and was vastly underrated on a team full of superstars and future Hall of Famers. In 1984 he was selected to the Pro Bowl.

Robin faced his toughest adversary at the age of 48 when he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, a disease who took his Father and afflicted three of his brothers. In 2006 The Obediah Cole Foundation for Prostate Cancer Research, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to prostate cancer education, awareness and early detection was created and named in honor of his Father.
