Los Angeles, CA (I-Newswire) November 19, 2012 - RHOVIT launching new platform to disrupt digital entertainment distribution
Rhovit announced today that their new site, www.rhovit.com, which they unveiled this
past October at New York Comic Con will be entering into closed beta in 2 weeks. An
Open Digital Entertainment Marketplace for Film / TV / Music / Books / Comics / Video
Games it is introducing a powerful new business model into the market, one that looks
to upset the status quo. Hosting both Commercial and Independent content Rhovit will
give a 100% of the profit made on sales back to the Content Providers. Commercial
providers or those with high content libraries will pay only their hosting/transaction/
download fees and Independent providers will pay a low rental fee of $9.99 a month
along with their transaction and download fees. Rhovit will not take a percentage of any
sale and will profit share with providers if advertising can be placed on their page.
Co-Founder and CEO of the company Matthew McCullough explained the need for
such a site. "I have a small film company, I have friends that are writers and game
designers. Making the product is just the first step. Getting it out to the public is a whole
other ball game and when you have companies that take 30%,50%, up to 70% of the
profit…it's a broken system. We wanted to make a site where artists could profit as
much as if it was their own site and yet still pull from the foot traffic associated with
larger marketplaces. I think we've accomplished that."
Rhovit has also made sure they’ve taken care of the user. With an elegant, intuitive
interface that is free unless a purchase is made the site was designed not only to
highlight what is most popular but to aid in the discovery of new and exciting products
and artists. “We wanted to make it so you could rent your movies, buy your comics,
download your games – all in one place but without a million other products.” Said
Matthew McCullough who added, “We also wanted to make it fun, which is one of the
reasons we are allowing everyone – not just films, to make a promotional video. The
more an artist can connect with their audience the better.” Rhovit will be open to the
public in early 2013.
